This policy explains what Karaoke Room collects, why, and your choices. We keep collection to a minimum.
What we collect
- Display name you type when joining a room.
- Room activity: song requests, YouTube links, chat messages and star ratings.
- Live video and audio when your camera or mic is on. These are streamed live to the room and are not recorded or stored by us.
- Tip details: payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We receive your email, name and tip amount to send a receipt.
- Device storage: your browser saves a random ID, your name and host/invite keys so you can rejoin rooms. We don't use advertising cookies.
How we use it
- To run rooms, the song line, chat and scoring.
- To process tips and email receipts.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
- Other participants in your room see your name, messages, requests, ratings and live camera/mic.
- Service providers that help us operate: our hosting and database provider, Stripe (payments), YouTube (song playback, subject to Google's privacy policy) and our email provider.
- Authorities, if required by law.
How long we keep it
Room data is kept only as long as needed to run the service and may be deleted after a session ends. Payment records are kept as required for tax and accounting.
Your choices and rights
- You can keep your camera and mic off, and clear your browser storage at any time.
- You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email.
- Depending on where you live (e.g. EU, UK, California), you may request access to or deletion of your data by emailing us.
Children
Karaoke Room is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
